During my therapy process, my therapist suggested that I make post-it notes of important realisations I had come to in our sessions. She suggested that I post these on my bedroom mirror and read them as daily affirmations in my healing journey to combat the negative and false beliefs I had developed as a result of my trauma.
I still have many of those post-it note affirmations up, but I have also found that using inspirational and motivational quotes is helping me in my healing journey! I’ve put together a list below with 25 of my absolute favourite quotes that you can read as affirmations.
“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs, ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go do that. Because what the world needs are people who have come alive.” – Harold Whitman

“The only way that we can live, is if we grow. The only way that we can grow is if we change. The only way that we can change is if we learn. The only way we can learn is if we are exposed. And the only way that we can become exposed is if we throw ourselves out into the open. Do it. Throw yourself.” ―C. JoyBell C.
"Don’t forget to tell yourself positive things daily! You must love yourself internally to grow externally.” –Hannah Bronfman

You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again.”― Eric Roth
“Take a deep breath. Inhale peace, exhale happiness.” – A.D. Posey

“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.” – Lucille Ball
“It's never too late to change your life for the better. You don't have to take huge steps to change your life. Making even the smallest changes to your daily routine can make a big difference to your life.” ―Roy T. Bennett
